ADJUNCT INSTRUCTOR POSITION
Antelope Valley College invites applications for our adjunct (Temporary, part-time) faculty applicant pool for the following
POSITION: Electrical Technology Instructor
SALARY: Salary Schedule E (currently $1,168.26 - $1,426.82 commensurate with education)
Adjunct instructors are hired on a semester basis and are paid per lecture hour equivalent (LHE).
(To establish a Pool for upcoming semesters)
Required Minimum Qualifications:
(Applicant must meet one of the following)
1. A Bachelor’s degree and two years of full-time experience as a journeyman electrician OR an Associate’s
degree and six years of full-time experience as a journeyman electrician OR the equivalent as follows:
2. An associate’s degree is considered to be the completion of two years of coursework at an accredited twoor
four-year institution (the equivalent of 60 semester hours) or appropriate military training including the
completion of courses usual to a general education component and six years of full-time experience (40
hours per week) as a journeyman electrician or electrical maintenance technician. Part-time experience will
be prorated. Example: Two years of experience working an average of 20 hours per week will be considered
equal to one year of full-time experience. A combination of non-academic or academic training and
additional experience as a journeyman electrician or electrical maintenance technician may be accepted as
equivalent to the minimum qualifications.
3. Clear evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural,
disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

1. Recent experience in at least two of the following specialties: residential installations and/or
maintenance, commercial installations and maintenance, industrial installations and maintenance, power
