Warner University is seeking a proven, resourceful and forward thinking academic leader to serve as our next Vice President for Academic Affairs/CAO. 

Position Summary: The Vice President for Academic Affairs provides vision, academic leadership and support for all academic programs and personnel. Additionally, the Vice President of Academic Affairs coordinates, defines and communicates integrated plans for the growth and development of all university academic programming in support of Warner University's mission, strategic plan and student success goals and outcomes. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to university department chairs, faculty and academic programs that inspires outstanding academic performance at Warner and professional advancement of the faculty.

  • Articulate a consistent vision of the value of academic excellence in teaching, research and service guided by a clear understanding of Warner's mission, vision and core values.

  • Set visionary goals for the academic areas of the University (short and long term) in cooperation with the President and Cabinet and then successfully meeting those goals.

  • Oversee budget development, implementation, monitoring and communication for the Academic budget.

  • Coordinate strategies and initiatives to achieve desired academic efforts in the areas of customer satisfaction, student retention, graduation rates and student progress in collaboration with the President and Cabinet.

  • Ensure University compliance with state and regional accreditation, regulations and policies.

  • Represent Warner to diverse communities.

  • Oversee faculty recruitment and orientation.

  • Demonstrate a consistent and positive reputation of engaging faculty and students both in and out of the classroom.

  • Foster a culture of lifelong learning, cooperation and connectivity between academic departments and their graduates.

  • Other duties as needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrate Warner's core values and outstanding Christian character in the performance of all duties.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of information, data and records.

  • Demonstrate the proper use of tact, diplomacy, discretion and judgment.

  • Demonstrate strong relationship building and customer service skills.

  • Demonstrate good organizational and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of current issues and trends in higher education and the ability to appropriately evaluate and implement current research, best practice and technology-based solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Supportive of Warner's mission, vision and core values, commitment to a Christian lifestyle, and demonstration of character in keeping with biblical models.

  • Must have a Ph.D. or Ed.D. and five years of college level teaching experience.

  • Strong record of success in academic administrative leadership at the college or university level.

  • Experience leading diverse work teams.

  • Strong record of successfully leading efforts to improve and strengthen academic program excellence and effectiveness

  • Proven resourcefulness in setting priorities and allocating resources of both people and systems.
