The MIT Sloan School of Management is seeking candidates for a full-time Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in the field of Managerial Communications. The initial appointment will be for one year with possibility of indefinite renewal, based on annual review. The Managerial Communications group has teaching needs in both general management communication and data communication.
The successful candidate will teach two sections of 15.280, Communication for Leaders, in the Core curriculum for first-year MBA students during the fall semester and will teach Communicating with Data and possibly Advanced Leadership Communication during the spring semester. The spring courses will be available to MBAs, Sloan Fellows, and students in other MIT Sloan programs.
A Master’s degree in a relevant field for Managerial Communication is required by the start of employment; Ph.D. is strongly preferred, but candidates with a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline and with teaching experience will be considered. It is highly desirable that candidates have either educational or professional background analyzing and presenting data to non-expert audiences. Two to three years of industry experience in a role that required substantial communication of analytical findings to senior managers or non-technical audiences is highly preferred.
Please submit applications electronically, providing a cover letter describing teaching goals and experiences and a CV. Applicants should arrange for two letters of recommendation to be submitted via this link. Review of candidates will begin December 2018 and applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
