Job Profile Summary

The Senior Dean of Analytics, Strategy and Communication is a senior college executive with advanced expertise in the analysis and communication of relevant data that informs strategic decisions at the college aimed at student success. The Senior Dean manages college resources focused on improving student retention and completion as well as analytical and logistical support for major college initiatives. The Senior Dean provides leadership for the college business deans in support of the academic pathways, college partnership centers and administers the college's transfer and articulation office. Under the general supervision of the College Provost, the Dean works in collaboration with the District-wide administration and community partners in higher education to maximize opportunities to ensure student success.

Minimum Education:

  • Master's degree required. An earned doctorate preferred.

Minimum Experience/Training:

  • Requires 7-10 years of progressive administrative or managerial experience.

  • Experience with budget and campus management as well as collecting and evaluating data relevant to student success. Expert knowledge in various software programs in support of higher education institutional management. A minimum of five years of relevant and progressive administrative experience including oversight of staff is required.

Essential Functions:

  • Daily - 15%: Provides effective leadership in the collection, analysis and evaluation of data that informs student success strategies and decision making processes at the college.

  • Daily - 15%: Manages college resources focused on improving student retention and completion as well as analytical and logistical support for major college initiatives.

  • Other - 10%: Works collaborately with Pathway leadership in the development of an annual published schedule that is directly responsive to analytics that drive increases in student completion and maximizes scheduling and room utilization efficiency.

  • Other - 10%: Responsible for people management of the area, including recommendation of staffing, hiring, termination and discipline, setting performance standards and evaluating staff, and staff development

  • Other - 10%: Coordinates college stakeholders in the development, review and submission of state and federal reports.

  • Other - 10%: Engages local, state, national and international entities to develop and execute articulation agreements that directly benefit students.

  • Other - 10%: Engages with senior leaders to ensure that initiatives are progressing in a timely manner and realizing the intended outcomes.

  • Other - 10%: Develops and implements effective communication strategies for college initiatives, policy/procedure updates, accomplishments and other relevant items to the entire college community. Provides support for ensuring compliance with college policies, state statute and State Board Rule, and federal legislation across the Office of the Provost functions.

  • Other - 5%: Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships college-wide. Leads collaboration with 3rd parties and vendors that provide solutions toward achieving college strategic goals, related services, including soliciting proposals, reviewing and revising contracts, etc.

  • Other - 5%: Performs related duties as assigned.

  • Responsible for the protection and safe-keeping of confidential data acquired during work
