The successful candidate is expected to work independently in a molecular virology laboratory on research projects studying the molecular mechanisms of positive-strand RNA virus replication, pathogenesis and vaccine development. The candidates will investigate the mechanism of hepatitis E virus replication and pathogenesis, and delineate the mechanism of host responses against hepatitis E virus infection. The candidate is expected to have good written and oral communication skills and is expected to provide some training for graduate students.

Required Qualifications:

Successful candidate must have a PhD degree in Virology or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to those candidates who have prior experiences in molecular virology particularly in the area of viral reverse genetic systems and innate immunity, and who have published high-quality papers in reputable journals.

May be required to work on weekend or holiday when needed. A postdoctoral position in molecular virology to study hepatitis E virus (HEV) is available immediately.
