StaffPosition Summary:
This position reports directly to the Controller. The Payroll Coordinator manages, plans, directs and coordinates activities related to developing and preparing FT and PT employee monthly payroll system within the Payroll department on the North Campus. Ensures all tax reports and preparation of the quarterly payroll reports, and unemployment benefits and filings are completed efficiently
Staff Required Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field and two (2) years of accounting experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Desired Education/Experience/Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with five (5) years of experience in cash handling; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

1. Reviews all payroll submissions and monitors for adherence to guidelines and requirements.

2. Manages the department’s work plan, operational procedures and guidelines. Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures. Interprets, applies and ensures compliance with college policies and procedures, federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to evaluations, admissions and disclosure of employee information.

3. Investigates complaints and recommends corrective action as necessary to resolve problems. Answers questions and provides information to the public. Responds to the most complex requests for information assists staff with research information, verification and problem resolving.

4. Works with internal partners, payroll staff and system office on implementation of upgrades to Colleague and new software. Coordinates and directs training of staff on new applications.

5. Reviews all procedures for efficiency improvements and trains staff on any procedural changes related to those improvements.

6. Provides backup as data security owner of the financial system as it relates to the CF module and codes within the Colleague system.
