Postdoctoral Appointment – Dynamics of Quantum Materials
The Center for Nanoscale Materials (CNM) at Argonne National Laboratory is seeking a postdoctoral researcher that will focus on experimental efforts on the topic of “time-resolved spectroscopy of quantum materials”. Interviews will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
The successful candidate will become part of a highly vibrant team and actively interact with staff scientists and other students across theory, fabrication, and other characterization groups. The candidate should have a background in experimental physics or physical chemistry.
This position is funded and renewable for up to a total of three years.
Position Requirements
Ph.D. degree level with 0 to 3 years of experience or equivalent
Experience in time-resolved spectroscopy such as transient absorption, nonlinear optics, or terahertz methods
Experience with experimental measurements on either semiconductors, superconductors, or semi-metals
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing such as demonstrated by first-author publication
Preferred:
Experience with cryogenic methods
Experience with advanced experimental methods
Knowledge regarding quantum materials research efforts or condensed matter
